I have been offered $200/acre at a 1/8th royalty for a 5 year lease in Section 25-7N-11W. I’m obviously not taking this unpleasant offer. However, I wanted to reach out and see what other mineral owners have been offered or negotiated for a 1/5th in this area. This particular leasing project just started last week. Five years would certainly be off the table for most of us. I never do longer than three years and certainly like to get an even shorter one. I never do a 1/8th lease if I can help it. Always ask what they are offering for 3/16ths and 1/5 and 1/4. Doubt it will be much in that area. So far, there have been no filed leases in the last three years or so.
