Burke County

Any activity around T160 R91 S/2 Sect.13 & N/2 Sect. 24

There are some older producing wells in 13 and 24. They have been around since 2011.

Thank you Ms Barnes. Would you explain how you found this information.

I suscribe to a service which is a quick way to find it. You can look it up on the North Dakota oil and gas website. https://www.dmr.nd.gov/

How does a person go about doing a mineral right verification. Just to see how much interest a person has for sure. Doesnt these oil companys do one before they lease and send you a copy? Just curious because if a person already had these verification documents maybe it would make it easier to lease? If anyone could share any info i would appreciate it. Thanks

You can do a complete title search at the courthouse just for your records. You can pay a landman to do it. But the company that leases is going to do it all over again to lease. The operator will do it yet again in order to issue a Division Order Title Opinion, so your search is only for your peace of mind. Sometimes, having family knowledge is helpful.
The lessee and the operator will not send you a copy of the whole title opinion since it costs thousands of dollars to do as they track hundreds of people. If you ask nicely, sometimes they will give you the paragraph or two that pertains to just your acreage.

Thank you very much for the info!

You can search for records yourself. http://www.ndrin.com/ cost $25.00 a month Burke and Divide counties are in the system. You need some info to search like name, locations doc numbers , etc … The site is a little messy but experiment with searches. You can view documents (deeds, leases etc) but printouts cost unless you want to/can cheat. https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/ is the site with just about everything. Experiment. some you have to subscribe to some you don’t.

The site will only let me include two links, thinks I’m a new user. (been here since they started). bah!

Go to the ND website - pick GIS Map on the left, then pick find section. You get a place for Township, Range and then Section at the bottom of page. Hit search and it will bring up a map with the section in the middle. On the left again you will find Rect Ident = Rectangle Identify. Move your cursor over one of the black dots in your section or adjacent to it and hold down the cursor and drag across the screen. That will create a RECTANGLE on the screen. Below the map will pop listings of any wells included in the Rect. With information like below. There’s more to do from that point but its a start. Good Luck This well goes through Sec 13. Didn’t see anything in 24. LIME ROCK RESOURCES Well name - SWENSON 160-91-11 Drilled - Tue, 15 Feb 2011
