I help manage my family’s mineral properties in Oklahoma (300+ scattered across multiple counties) and got frustrated with manually checking the OCC website for new permits, drilling activity, and pooling orders.
I’m a video producer by trade but built a simple automated system that:
- Monitors the OCC database daily
- Sends email alerts when there’s activity on my properties
- Also watches adjacent sections (for horizontals that might pool my minerals)
- Tracks specific wells by API number
It’s been running for my family for a few weeks and catching stuff we would have missed.
My question: Would other Oklahoma mineral owners find something like this valuable? What features would you want to see? Is this solving a real problem or just me overthinking things?
