Sounds like going lease bonus for southern portion of Brazos County (near the river & Burleson County due south of College Station) is about $1000/acre for a 3 year term. Is this about right?

Just wanted to say thanks to Clint Liles and others, due to your help I found more information out and that I may actually be entitled to the oil royalties prior to selling them. Vess Oil is holding a $40.000+ ck for me but says now there is a title issue in that an old 2009 lease with Endeavor that was part of the Lott Wilson (or Wilson Lott) pool, they are saying the lease contained an invalid description of my land and the minerals, thus lease was invalid and they are going to redistribute my share to the other royalty owners!! I have contacted a lawyer to stop that so the courts can decide if the contract was valid or not. So still have a long road ahead of me be at least there is still some small chance.........

Hang in there Jo Leene. Don't give up. Good luck............

okay this is kinda oil and gas related. I got a packet in the mail from a company called Vector Seismic Data Processing. they are wanting to do a "hazard survey" where they place recording devices on your land, while sending some kind of signal via vibrosis trucks. They say that is phase one. what they don't say is what phase II is. They are offering a whopping $12.50 per acre and you can either own the mineral or the surface rights or both. Does any one have any idea what phase II holds? Is $12.50 an acre decent for them just placing these phones on the ground??My land is in brazos county, Moses Scott Survey A215.

They are just doing Seismic Testing which will most likely be to your benefit if you own minerals. $12.50 is the going rate for them to place temporary sensors on you property. If you have a fairly large piece of acreage, you can ask for more but they seldom pay it.

The Vector is doing the testing across most of the Eastern part of the county and I have had several dealings with them over the past few months. I have found them to be very conscience of the land owners request, they called me prior to coming on my land and they removed everything once they finished and other than a few foot prints, they took very good care of my property. They are very alert to how your gates are left and close the ones that are closed and leave open the gates that were open.
