I really need HELP with information on leasing my mineral rights. I have 1600 acres in Blaine County. I want to know if anyone else has land in this County and what the going rate is? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also what is this Bakken Shale and is Blaine County in the area?
My family has some mineral interest in Blaine County, Montana, and I know there is some leasing happening right now. From what I’ve heard, owners are lucky to get an offer at all. If they do, the going rate is $5-$10 per acre. Blaine County is definitely out of the Bakken shale play and is very speculative.
Our family has mineral rights in Blaine County, Montana and have had leases in the past. Going rate is $15 net acre. Wildcat area.
As far as Bakken shale, that is more North Dakota.

Was offered 10 per acre with a royalty of 1/8 of the market value. Does this seem decent?
