Biggest problems mineral owners are facing

Hi everybody!

I was just curious what are the biggest headaches mineral owners are faced with? What are problems or issues that you’re having trouble dealing with on your own?

Some examples I can think of would be related to determining the value of your interests, figuring out the going rates for lease bonuses or purchase offers, or making sure your well revenues are being paid correctly. But I imagine that there are other issues that are really causing heartburn.

I’d love to hear what people have to say in regards to this.

One issue that I see on a frequent basis is minerals that are neglected in an estate plan, worse yet when there is no estate plan. There are a variety of ways that property can be transferred without the need to go through probate. A simple mineral trust or transfer on death deed can be part of an overall plan.
