Big Run Production Companys Funny Production Numbers

I wanted to share this work sheet I put together with everybody here at Mineral Rights Forum. This is one of the things to look out for if you think somethings not right with your Operator.

This is from the reported production from two of the wells Big Run Production Company operates in La Plata and Archuleta County's, Colorado . The Well name and numbers are the Argenta Fee 17, API 05 067 06333 and the Argenta Fee 19, 05 007 06094, and all these production numbers are in the COGCC reported production records at their website.

What it is, consecutive operating months with the same amounts of production . This is a Red Flag. This just does not happen in real life .

If you want to check it out at the COGCC website You will find these records at GIS Maps. If you do look it up check out April 2006 you will see there was a surge of production for both wells I mean a big surge for the same month . It was really nice of them to give us 12,000 extra MCF for that one month.

MR. Cotten I hope you have some good advice on this one ?..

William,

I don't know your wells or operator but I do know that there is a limit to the amount of gas that will flow through an orifice at certain temperatures and pressures. This data is usually kept automatically at the wellhead on circular charts. If your operator opened the orifice, the volume would jump as it did then decline relative to the bottom hole pressure and tubing pressure as it did. If the operator increases the orifice too much, water may come in and kill the well. Physics and long term economics may be controlling the production more than the monthly operators reports.

At the time I first read your reply I didn't realize how important it was. I would like to know more about this gauge or chart and how it works ?..
