Hi all. Long time member and lurker, but I don’t post much. Like many others, we leased to Petrohawk, now BHP, 3 years ago with a 2-year extension option which would be up at the end of this month. We have contacted them and they say they will not be exercising the option. We have mineral classified lands in Block 71. We’ve already been approached by a landman that appears to be working for a lease broker of sorts, not directly with a known operator. I would like to see if Cimarex is interested in the acreage. Would rather skip the middle man if possible. Does anyone have contact info for a landman for Cimarex or other operators leasing (and actually drilling) that area? I’ve seen a lot of comments from people in Block 70 just to our north who have recently leased with them. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!
Lori – reviewing the results of the July 1, 2014 Texas GLO Sealed Bid Sale. There were two (2) offerings in PSL Block 70 – Section 8 (160 acres-SE/4) and Section 9 (640 acres-All).
The successful bidders were:
Section 8: Cimarex Energy Co. - bid $760,000.00 ($4,750.00/ac)
Section 9: Divine Resource LLC - bid $2,554,240.00 ($3,991.00/ac)
Divine also bid on the Section 8 offering ($3,627.00/ac).
Also, Cimarex was the successful bidder on six (6) other parcels and unsuccessful on one additional. Five of their six other successful bids were north of Toyah/I-20. The other, just east of Toyah and south of I-20, PSL Block 72 Section 28 (155.80 acres-S/2), bid $642,675.00 ($4,125.00/ac)… Wise & Susong LLC & Divine also bid.

Help ~ I was looking at the GLO bids and couldn’t tell what the blk and section was ~ how do you get from trac # to blk and sec that was bid on - thanks

FYI ~ Just heard from BHP and was told they intend to exercise the 2-year option on our property in Block 54 Section 6 and we should have the check next week ~ the lease expires 8/6.
I am in the same situation in Section 8 Block 55 Township 7S T&P. I just now sent an email off to their owner relations dept.
