Being told my coal is too close to RR after 55 plus years.

I was contacted in 2013 and told I had a coal lease by inheritance. I appeared at the Mine. Spoke with Mike and we went over a map. Long story short. Now I’m being told Hamilton Coal won’t mine the coal due to it being under a RR track. Now I hear it’s not under but considered too close. I don’t think I’m being told the truth about my 1/4 and 1/10 acre of coal.

This is mostly a forum for oil and gas. You may have to contact the natural resource commission for you state and see what the rules are. But that small acreage and being close to a railroad track, it is probably not economic for an operator to do anything that would endanger the stability of the railroad track bed.
