Being taxed by two counties on the same property

I just received a delinquent tax statement on production in Ward County by Reeves County. I received bills from both Ward and Reeves County. The explanation I received is that it has been determined that part of the pool is in property taxed by Reeves and the rest is in Ward County. What can I do, other than bending over, and what recourse do I have?

Cross county tax bills are fairly common in Reeves County and Ward County due to some taxing authorities who go over county lines. As far as it being due to a pool, you would need to find the unit designation to see if this is correct.

Thanks Wade. Just wanted to be sure I wasn’t being double dipped.
