I started this group for the purpose of sharing information about any leasing or drilling in Baldwin County. It has been many years (50+) since an exploratory well was drilled on my dad's farm in Lillian (in the middle of the night, no less). I am not aware of any recent activity, but did notice that several counties to our north and east have some interest.
First Titan Corp. has moved a drilling rig to the Little Cedar Creek Oil Field and will begin drilling soon, according to a story at Market Watch. The field, 10 miles southeast of Evergreen, now has at least 73 wells, and was discovered by Hunt Oil Company in 1994. According to the Geological Survey of Alabama State Oil and Gas Board, “in 2005, Little Cedar Creek became the top oil-producing field in the State, producing 1.17 million barrels of oil.”
