Since the Bakken has become a major play over past few years, hundreds of thousands of acres has been leased and there are hundreds of thousands of acres which remain undrilled with leases beginning to expire in 2011 thru 2014. There are only so many rigs currently involved mainly in North Dakota while the Montana area has not been highly drilled. The way it appears is that many of us will be entering new leases on our undrilled minerals whereas the current $ bonus/acre and % royalty will be much higher. Further, length of leases will possibly be much shorter. Anyone have thoughts regarding this!
