Atoka County information

My family signed a lease with Dudley Land Co for sec16-3S-12E: the southwest quarter last year. (Atoka County) We are wondering how to find out who they (Dudley land Co) are representing. Also how do we find out what if anything is going on. Thank you for any insights Coleen Pelzer Grundy

Dudley filed over 680 leases in the last 18 months. No change to an operator name yet. The only other operator listed is G&S Energy from a well back in 2009. Time will tell. Or you can call Dudley and ask. They may be under contract not to tell. No current OCC activity.

Yes you are right. Dudley is under contract to not disclose who the owner is. Is there a way to find out if or when any activity begins?

If your name is properly filed in the county courthouse, then you will receive mailings from any OCC cases that pertain to your acreage. Pretty much a wait and see sort of thing. Typically a company will file for a spacing if one does not exist. Then they will file for the type of well, then a permit will be filed before drilling begins. Some of those early leases will start to expire in the next year or so. Last year was rough due to the drop in prices and COVID staff shortages. The companies that still have funding are starting to drill again this year-where the economics make sense.

You can watch for any permits at the OCC. Link: https://imaging.occ.ok.gov/imaging/OGWellRecords.aspx
