How different is the smackover region than the arkoma basin. I know they are looking for Lithium in the Smackover Region, just curious if I could get lucky and it’s in the Arkoma Basin where I have mineral rights.
Just to double check - is lithium considered a mineral right?
The Smackover is a particular reservoir which is mostly drilled in Arkansas. Not much of it extends into Oklahoma. In general, the lithium is extracted from brine (salt water) which is either owned by the surface owner or the operator. The mineral owner does not generally benefit unless they are also the surface owner.
