Area with no wells and no contact

I sold 470 acres in the area of the old town of Las Vegas on FM 468 east of Big Wells in 2007 and did not convey any royalties. The previous owner conveyed all their royalties that they owned if any. I visited the courthouse trying to get info on royalty distribution and if I did indeed receive any royalties. The land man I talked to at the courthouse was confused after reading thru some of the old deeds and couldn't give me an answer. Checking the Railroad Commission map the areas of 31, 32, 33, 34 and 37 show no wells. Could the lack of activity in that area have something to do with the old township and heirs? There is no longer any remains of the town and the survey we received at time of purchase does not show any other platting other than the existing fence lines on the 465 acres and 5 acres of the railroad right-of-way. Who do I contact to see if I have a royalty interest and if so why is there no activity?
