Are Pooling Agreements Filed in TX?

Are pooling agreements or production sharing agreements public records in Texas? If so, how do you look them up?

County deed records. Easiest to search by operator name and date range. Some operators are slow to file and so you can keep checking. Or ask the landman at the oil company for a copy of the recorded DPU or Pooling Agreement. You will not be asked to consent if your lease allows pooling.

www. Texasfile.com you sign up with your email as your ID and add money to your account because copies are something like 10 to 20 cents a page I think and it deducts it and you download PDF files…they’ve got . most oil & gas counties in Texas as well as (mineral rolls)… You can also pay a little bit more and put a name in a statewide search and it will go through all the counties for you and search on a name or an operator’s name.

Www. Courthousedirect.com is another great website for court documents

TexasFile charges $1.00 per page, just like the County Clerk’s Offices will.

CountyRecords.com, however, only charges $1.00 per page per document up to $4.00 maximum per document.

For example, just yesterday I downloaded a 66 page Declaration of Pooling and a 68 page Declaration of Pooling from CountyRecords.com for $8.00.

These particular Declarations of Pooling were so large because they included a TON of Town Lots. The Exhibits were all but about 5 pages of each document.

Hope this helps -
