Are Hunton Layers Drilled?

This may seem like an obscure question. I keep track of oil And Gas for a small acreage extended family. I’ve been Looking at the question of long term productivity. There are Additional productive layers below the Woodford. To the east In OK is the ouachita mnts play that I think gets much prod. From this Older Hunton layer. Is there any history of deeper drilling below Woodford?

Hi Zzee, the OCC data for oil and gas wells does include a space for target formation. A brief search on this data gives a list of over 400 wells that list Hunton or portions of the Hunton as the target formation. This isn’t a huge number out of over 100,000 active gas and oil wells that were checked, but it does certainly show up as something that has been done.

Pete is correct as the Hunton is productive in several areas. There are also deeper reservoirs under that. All depends upon location.
