April 2026 activity & leasing

I own minerals in Sections 18 & 19, Block 44, Township 2 South, Ector County, Texas. Anyone have insights into activity and any current (April 2026) leasing occurring in that area? Names of companies working the area, bonus amounts (being offered and what the mineral owner should be receiving), royalty amounts, term length of lease offers, etc? Thanks for any help and information !

Looks like Acoma and Greenhead Resources are leasing in those two sections.

A belated thanks for your reply, M. Barnes. How can a mineral owner tell who is leasing in a particular area … and how recently? Is it simply through “Word on the Street”? Is it through a search of county clerk records to find out if what leases have been recorded (filtered by Township, Block and Section?) for a particular time period? Is it correct that a search of County Clerk records be done online? Should search criteria be filtered to include surrounding Sections in case lease is for a horizontal well that is initiated in one section but may be crossing a particular section of interest? Can you also simply search by name of Lessee? Any additional info and guidance on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, mineral deeds and leases are filed in the counties where the minerals are located. For Texas, many of the counties can be found with www.TexasFile.com. www.courthousedirect.com is another website. Some counties have their own online websites.

You can use the Texas Railroad Commission GIS website to look for your area and see where the horizontal wells are located. https://gis.rrc.texas.gov/GISViewer/
