A few years ago I used XP Shale to explore what might be coming to our neighborhood.
Is anyone actively tracking new activities around us here?

Zero leases in the last 24 months. Zero permits. Zero OCC cases.
Thank you.
I have 80 mineral acres here and want to track what will come when it comes, if it comes.
If you are going off of an old lease that says 80 acres, the lease usually states the gross tract, not your net acres.
In general, if there is interest in the area, the leasing agents will contact the mineral owners using the courthouse records and other sources of finding potential heirs. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission will set a drilling and spacing unit, then what type of well, and then pooling.
Le.Flore is not very active at this time. You can read the Mineral Help tab above to get a feel for how things work in general.
Thank you. I bought 80 acres years ago, and will retain the mineral rights if and when I sell the surface land. I also own some active oil and gas interests in north Texas and I have had to learn a huge amount of new knowledge trying to deal with that and still do not yet have it all sorted out after 12 years of suspended WI on 7 wells. I recognize the necessity, now, to get in front of any exploration activities that could arrive at my front door in the future. I will be periodically testing the waters for new opportunities in my area, when and if they come in my lifetime, and if not, in my heir’s lifetime.
Good for you on staying on top of things. Texas law and OK law are very different in the mineral world. You might consider joining the National Organization of Royalty Owners. www.naro-us.org. They offer classes on mineral management, conferences for networking with other mineral owners, webinars that explain where to find information in the various states, etc.
Thank you. I just looked over your business profile. Can you tell me more precisely what you do?
I am a fourth generation mineral owner that handles my family portfolio of minerals across many states. We have been in the business for over a hundred years. Also a third generation geologist with about 50 years in exploration, production and minerals management. At the moment, I am the OK Chapter President for the National Association of Royalty Owners. www.naro-us.org. So I spend most of my time answering questions for mineral owners on the forum and through NARO channels. Our family has been blessed with generational and professional knowledge, so time to give back and help others get up to speed. Training that fifth generation now!
