Alfalfa County, OK - OIl & Gas Discussion archives

Oil & gas discussion group for those interested in Alfalfa County, OK. Share your experience regarding lease bonus, royalty rates, drilling activity, and oil & gas news.

I just noticed in the Tulsa newspaper where Sandridge is completing wells that are producing in the 300 t0 400+ BOPD. Is this the norm? Are there any better or worst? These were located in Alfalfa and Woods Counties. This must be generating a lot of excitment locally for the mineral owners. Any coments?

Eagle Energy Production - Horizontal Spacing- Section 34, Township 25 N, Range 10W, ALFALFA COUNTY…Establishing 640 acre drilling and spacing horizontal gas unit for the Mississippian common source of supply in the aforementioned Section, Township, and Range in Alfalfa County…My fingers and toes are crossed! Good luck to us all!

My sister and I are mineral rights owners in Alfalfa, Sec 21 and Sec 15. Lots of spacing, pooling, and continuances going on. Hoping they get busy soon! Would love to know more about production numbers also! If anyone has any news, keep us posted. We are in Indiana and Michigan, so out of the loop of drilling in OK.

It depends. Somebody just may think that your interest can be purchased so they have sent you an offer.

I have received an offer to purchase my royalty interest in Sec. 17. Does this imply that production has already started in that area or that drilling in going on, or that prospects are especially good there?

Wiliam, what is the full legal, section township range.

My aunt, sister and I have land in Alfalfa county. Section 7, township 26N, range 12W. My sister and I have a quarter ea and my aunt has half for a total of 160 acres. We have had an offer of $3,200.00 per leased net mineral acre. My aunt wants to sell, but my sister and I do not. Will they split the offer? Also, is there any reason to sell mineral rights if we do not NEED the money? Are the prospects good for oil in our sections? Thanks, Shelly

If you are leased, then there is no reason to sell unless you just have to have the money right now.

The reason you are leased is because someone thinks theres oil or gas or something beneath the surface worth extracting. Selling will just cut all those payments off.

Shelly,

Don’t sell! If your aunt wants to sell hers then yes, I believe she can sell only her portion…Also, I’ve never heard of anyone “not needing the money.” That makes me chuckle. I would say prospects are really, really good no matter where you are located in Alfalfa County.

If you have the money buy your aunts minerals

Thanks for the information Ron. Please keep me up to date on the wells .

Permit there is nothing to it. If the pooling runs out they have to refile it and if you elected under the first pooling they have to pay any bonus again and you could change your election.

Thanks! Hopefully I’ll hear from them soon on the one that was completed.

Here is the pooling which is still good.

15 had a permit dated 8/3/11 so it has expired with no well. 21 had a well started 9/23/12 no completion info. filed yet. 22 has a well that has production that started July 17, 2012, it tested 101 BOD and 231 MCF.

They have 6 months from the date of first production or they are subject to 12% interest.

I take that back it also has run out I think.
