Aethon Currie 2H Well

The Aethon Currie 2H appears to be their first Lower Bossier horizontal well completed in Robertson County. API is 395-32076. TVD is listed as 15,624 feet.

The well was completed on 9/29/2022 and tested on 10/10/2022. Here are the 24-hour test results:

Wellhead pressure over 12,000 PSI also. I’ve provided a link to the Completion Report.

So here’s what’s interesting. The well was completed almost 6 months ago. However, there are no production reports for it, not even in the pending category. There is no gas well ID number. If you look it up on the GIS Viewer, it shows as a permitted location. If you do a wellbore query on the API, nothing comes up.

Maybe it’s a ghost well!

Frac job used 36,961,767 gallons of water and 38,975,854 pounds of sand. The producing interval is 6,561 feet, so here are the per foot numbers:

Water: 5,634 gallons

Sand: 5,941 pounds

Aethon still has not assigned a gas well ID for this well, so production is not available from the usual RRC production report source, However, if a well is producing and you have the drilling permit number, you can located monthly production via the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts CONG system. Here are the production figures for the Currie 2H well:

9/2022: 24,630 MCF (2 production days)

10/2022: 703,638

11/2022: 790,622

12/2022: 886,339

01/2023: 803,549

02/2023: 503,671

Total: 3,712,449 MCF
