Advice regarding suspended account

Just received this certified letter from Catena. Can someone please help? We certainly cannot afford an attorney. Any advice is greatly appreciated on how to move forward.

"Through our due diligence of the transfer documents provided in regard to the Allen family, we have found that multiple family members submitted Affidavits of Heirship that are insufficient to transfer property in the state of New Mexico. Unfortunately, we will be placing your account in a temporary suspense until the correct transfer documents below can be provided. We understand that previous management accepted these documents and released payment, however they are not legally correct, so we are here to help amend the Title on your end and on ours. As mentioned above, the state of New Mexico does not recognize Affidavits of Heirship to be a sufficient instrument to transfer property/mineral interests of the decedent. Although you may reside in Texas, the property is located in New Mexico and therefore we have to abide by New Mexico’s rules. New Mexico will require an Informal Probate to be opened for Homer Gene Allen, and the state will then determine and name the heirs and how to distribute the assets based on the state’s intestate succession laws, as the decedent died without a Will. It is highly recommended to hire an attorney that can guide you through the entire probate process and ultimately make it an easier process for you. Your legal counsel will also be available to answer any questions that you may have along the way since we are not attorney’s and cannot give ar legal advice. Once probate has been completed, please send Catena copies of following documents below

  1. Copy of Tiffanys death certificate.
  2. Informal Probate Documents - recorded in Lea County, NM where property is located.
  3. Letter of Administration Please let us know if you have any questions, or if you would like to further discuss. Our office line is 13-518-1331 ext. 1, or email us at Owner Relations@Catenares.com. If we are unable to answer yo call, please be sure to leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

You can attempt to navigate the New Mexico probate procedure yourself. However, you may be able to locate a New Mexico attorney to handle the matter on a flat fee basis.

Probate can be complicated. That is why attorneys often hire other attorneys to handle these types of family matters. Best of luck to you.
