My family owns Township 3 North, Range 61 West Section 18: S1/2NE1/4, SE 1/4NWH/4 (480 acres) as well as Township 4 North, Range 6 J West Section 33: W1/2, SE1/46 (120 acres). We just received a lease offer with a deadline to sign in 2 weeks. Is that typical? How can I encourage further interest from others?

The time line is a bit unusual. I do not see any leases posted in 3N-61W in the last 24 months. Most of the activity is to the west in 62 Wand 63W. The main leasing agents over there are Kerr, Noble, Verdad, and Veritas, so you might try them. Occidental is the operator for MANY multi-section horizontal wells there. The play may be moving your direction.
