I have searched and researched different sights trying to locate history or current drilling in Love County, Oklahoma. I have 100 mineral acres in Section 35 Township 6S. From what I have been able to find, I believe only one well has ever been drilled in that area and was not close to my 1 W S NW SE; SW SE; E E SW.
Honestly, I find it difficult to discern. Most of the sites I have found require much more detailed information that this. Does anyone know about this area? Or, is there information somewhere that would make my property more searchable? Thanks in advance for any response.
You are missing your range information. If you are going off of an old lease, the acreage is probably gross and not net, so your net may be lower. If you give the complete section, township and range description it is easier to look up. We can help.
The description I have is Section 35-6S-1W; S/2 NW/4 SE/4 & SW/4 SE/4 & E/2 E/2 SW/4. This is from an old lease offer found after my mother passed.
There is one horizontal well in that section. Continental Resources Flanagan 1-26-35XH drilled in 2014 and still producing. The well was spaced at 640 acres so would include all acreage in both sections. Condolences on the passing of your mother. You need to contact Continental Resources to notify them of her passing and if you are an heir, ask how to get into pay status. Also a good idea to check the unclaimed funds at the treasurer for the state she lived in.
S/2 NW/4 SE/4 (20 ac) & SW/4 SE/4 (40) & E/2 E/2 SW/4 (40)= 100 acres, but this is the gross acreage. Highly unlikely that she owns all of it as acreage is passed through each generation since state patent grant. Continental can tell you how many net acres and what royalty she would have from their title opinion for the well.
