Activity in Block 34?

I live about 1000 miles away from Ward County, but am going to drive down in March and try and find the land that we own there. We currently have a mineral lease on it, and are wondering what we'll see if anything when we get there? It's described as: "Tracts 1, 2, 3, 31-A and 31-B, such land being a part of the N/4 of section 135, Block 34, H&TC RR Co. Survey, Ward County, Texas"

Anyone know if anything is going on there? I haven't got the first idea what I'm looking at on maps or charts, and I've tried reviewing stuff contained in threads here. There's a couple of things I'm pretty good at, but not this.

Thanks in advance...

Mark

M. R.,

At this time I don't see any activity in the area of Section 135. I see 7 older vertical wells drilled into the Canyon formation back in 1977/78/79 in Section 135. One of these wells(31629) is still producing 2 to 3 barrels per day and the rest have been plugged. Next door to the N/W in Section 144 Cimarex has 4 producing horizontal oil/gas wells(36421, 36416, 36299, 36203) that were drilled in 2012 and 2013.

These 4 wells are all included in the same lease number(43012). Link to Production Data on these 4 Cimarex wells in Section 144:

To the S/E in Section 125 are 3 or 4 permitted locations to drill by Anadarko in late 2014 and apparently they were never drilled.

You can follow this link for a google satellite view of section 135 with the corners marked. There is a house on the north side of the highway one mile to the northeast which is where I was born and raised 70 years ago.

The above is a static image, the following will pull up the dynamic map where you can zoom and pan around the area. Pretty much might save you a trip.
