Revisiting this area from my previous post.
Signed a lease from April 2023 with Cowbell Creek Land Company representing Silver Creek Oil & Gas. Lease was never recorded with the OKC until two days ago 6/11/2025. Reached out a year+ back to the landman from Cowbell about my unrecorded lease and he said Silver Creek had shut their doors, which I took as “out of business.” I asked for the lease back and never heard from him. So up until today I figured after three years (primary term on lease) it would no longer be relevant.
Does anyone see any activity here? What kind of wells new or old are in the area; horizontals, gas, oil and gas?

Hey Sparkle, I’m not sure about production in that section, but I can tell you that Silver Creek is still in business. I just got a royalty check from them last month on some minerals in Hughes county. I would recommend calling them directly. They have always been helpful.

Last well completed in that section was in 2016. A bunch of wells were sold to DJF services in 2023.
Your lease is still in its primary term from the effective date until the end of the term listed. So if three years, still has a few months left. I do not see any permits nearby.
Got ahold of Cowbell Creek. The owner believes Silver Creek is just getting their piles of unfiled leases recorded to present for potential sale. It’s possible they might try to get another well drilled before all these leases expire but more likely not as the funding to get a well going is not there. All hearsay, but seems legitimate.
