Active or Not? How Do I Know?

My brother and I recently got letters offering to purchase our rights in a lump sum. MY previous lease has expired, I beleived mine to be inactive. However, this letter has me wondering if it really is. How can I go about finding out if my lease is being drilled currently? It’s info: Levi N. Sparks survey, A-701, Rusk co.

robotkyle…there are some very good gas wells in the area of A- 701. These gas wells have been drilled into the Cotton Valley formation(13,000’). The completion reports show they are coming in at 2 to 10 million cubic feet of gas per day with some condensate. If these were my minerals I certainly wouldn’t sell them. I find 4 different operators have drilled horizontal gas wells in this area in the last few years…they are Sabine Oil and Gas, Memorial Production, Forest Oil and Amplify Energy.

This link is to production data on horizontal well 401-35350 that goes into A-701…to view all production on this well manipulate begin date back to Nov. 2015 and click ‘Submit’:::

Clint, Thank-you so much for the quick reply, with such great intel! So, with it seeming that they are accessing my area, what would my next move be to get royalties that they seem to owe us? Should I try to conact Sabine directly? Kyle

Good Morning robotkyle. Do you own all the minerals in A-701 or do you own a percentage? If you own just a percentage they may not be in the unit/lease where this well is in A-701. If you do not know you can call the County Clerks off in Rusk County and they can possibly help you.

If you do own the minerals in this unit/lease then you are owed back monies. Good luck with you minerals.

Thank-you Clint! I’m not sure of the size relationships, but our mineral deed says it’s for 80 acres in the Levi Sparks Survey.
