We are needing a spreadsheet with names, contact information, and legal descriptions, and of course any other info is welcomed. Does anyone know where I can find this data? Thanks.
You could try the Oklahoma Mineral Owner registry. I have never used them to find a mineral owner and have a hard time finding someone else that has likewise used their services to do the same. This does sound like what you are looking for.
Otherwise, as best I know, you'll have to either purchase old ownership reports and contact lists from brokerages, landman, acquisition companies like yourself, or build them yourself by reviewing public filings and putting the data together. Both roads are expensive propositions. The third route is to seek a partnership with a company already in the business of acquisitions.
I have used a title brokerage in the past to find mineral owners in a given area. I used the lists to conduct fair market value checks but it sounds like what you are asking for, with the exception that I was not concerned with the amount that the mineral owners owned. They provided a spreadsheet with a cursory list of the mineral owners over a given area with contact information.
