Can a producer require us to receive royalty payments via ACH rather than paper check? Does anyone know?
I don’t believe so, however this is the most convenient way to receive payments. Even if they send ACH, they also have to provide you with a check stub by mail or email.
Personally, I prefer a real check with a stub attached. I am dealing with a company right now where the bank deposits by ACH do not match the check stubs, by quite a lot. Not much fun to straighten out…guess who got the short end of the stick for the moment.

Wow, what a headache.
Not by pennies, by hundreds of dollars…, my project for the week to unravel. Run statements are quite a bit higher than the bank deposits. Brand new well, so rather important to catch quickly.
