For the second time, EOG has miscalculated my royalty payment. It was an error that added up to a 4-fold increase in my normal royalty payment for a month. But no notice! Or information about this was given to me until I had not received anything the next month and called their ridiculously slow owner information department. I asked for more information about the error and registered my complaint about poor communications, which I doubt will ever be heard by anyone. This strikes me as very strange, for a company of that size to be making errors in accounting, and I am suspicious of some game being played here. Am I being unreasonable and paranoid? Yes, they overpaid me, but now I have to trust that these months of no payment are being calculated correctly.
Yep… like the fox overseeing the henhouse… I don’t think you’re being unreasonable. I think I can remember a time when Enron made a name for themselves in the Houston area.
