My client has recently received an offer to lease in Las Animas County Colorado. They are exploring for helium. The lease is an oil and gas lease, and more clearly describes gas including helium. They are offering $5/nma and 1/8 Royalty for 5 years. This seems low to us, especially since we are accustomed to oil and gas exploration. There is no current production of helium in the area, so it is truly undeveloped. Has anyone been able to get a better bonus/royalty on helium leases?
