For seismic work, does the company have to pay the mineral owner or only the surface owner? Also, who is Brannon Land Services? Are they owned by Blue Dolphin? Just can’t figure them out.
Seismic is paid to the surface owner (like an entry fee). If the surface is rented and crops are damaged, the damage goes to the renter.
As far as I know, Brannon Land Services is owned by Mr. Brannon and he does lots of work for Limestone. Blue Dolphin does a lot of offshore drilling and has several branches under them.
Brannon Land company has their own leases and don’t like to have things changed. I have dealt with them several times and have always got my funds within a very short time.
I can’t figure Brannon Land Services either. They contacted me with an offer to lease my mineral rights in Logan County (33, 17N, 2W). When I accepted, they withdrew the offer with no explanation.
D. Pharr,
My guess would be because there is no water to drill wells right now and they had lots of leases that need to be drilled before they run out. Also, some of the oil companies have drilled some wells in the area and 2 were dry, can’t remember the legals, some aren’t that big and payback is a lot longer than expected. People don’t invest unless payback is within a few years. And if they were leasing for Limestone, they are drilling more wells in Garfield County right now than in Logan.
Why don’t you call them and ask why they withdrew the offer. They should be able to tell you.
I did ask the person whom I had been communicating with (by email). He did not reply.
