There are various landmen very active in eastern Kentucky. The bonus they are offering per acre is not that much considering the potential of the amount of oil and gas in the ground. They are offering this amount for all formations, or oil and gas plays. Most if not all of these leases are for 5 years with a 5 year option. Also the percentage of royalty they are offering is very low. What seems like a good amount now is nothing compared to what they will be drilling for in the near future.
