I am selling a rental property and considering exchanging a portion of the gain into mineral rights. I know nothing about minerals but like the diversity and the numbers seem to good to be true. The names that are most often mentioned are Peregrene1031, Eckard, King and Resource. Are these reputable companies? Any insight or direction would be appreciated.

1031 rules are quite specific as to what is acceptable and what is not and the time frame in which to get everything accomplished. Suggest that you contact your CPA before going down that path and get a very good understanding of how they work.
