Woods County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

I own mineral rights section 22-23 North-13 West, which were leased by Earlsboro but I just signed a division order with Sandridge; Earlsboro sold the lease to Sandridge, who, I’m told, are doing horizontal drilling. Does anyone know if they or anyone else are active in sections 19 and 30? Thanks

Hello to all in Woods county group, I am looking to gain as much knowledge about Woods county as my grandmother lived in Alva and the mineral interest left to me are there as well. I would also like to see what kind of monetary offers are being made to mineral interest owners to lease as well as to sell there interest close to the interests I own. Below I have listed the legal descrition and the name of the producing well located on each tract. Chesapeake Energy has lease for all 5 wells, one well per legal description. This kind of peaks my curiosity as to what they might be up to. Any insight as to these existing wells, selling vs. retaining these mineral interest and aany future plans for the mentioned tracts or any adjoining tracts would be Greatly Appreciated! I only learned of these mineral interests 6 months ago and have been doing my homework ever since, so please be gentle… Thank you, Bryan W. Jo Anne Have you ever signed a lease? If so did your lease have a depth clause ? I looked at the first pooling and you are listed, so I am thinking you were not leased when it was filed or when they had the hearing.

I think Sandridge may have made a big mistake and they are trying to fix it as best they can. But you need to fully understand the options they are giving you and have all the facts before you do anything .

Has anyone else had to deal with unclaimed property (UC) Oklahoma treasury? Our family production and lease monies were sent to Unclaimed Property in Ok even though Chesapeake knew of our existence. UC can’t keep a story straight - first it is one claim for all and now it is all need to file an individual claim. Chesapeake states that once it is turned over - not their problem. The UC tech this stated why doesn’t Chesapeake pay you and file for the money themselves - they do it all the time.

So I am now confused and frustrated.

I would like to take a quick survey of this forum:

How many of you have siblings that are sharing in proceeds from Chesapeake Operating Inc.? Have you compared your check stubs with each other? Have you seen “errors” in the agreed percentage?

The major problem is that Chesapeake has not finished our property transfer and say the new Division order will do. UC says it will not do but either way, we have nothing yet. UC told me a letter from Chk would do and I asked for such a letter. They can’t spend the money so I don’t understand why they are withholding it.

Has anyone had any offers to lease in Woods County? We have some minerals in 27N 17W that have expiring leases and would like to lease them again. Thank you!

What section in 27n-17w ?
