Wood County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

John,

What is the Abstract # of your minerals holding in Wood County?

Clint Liles

Clint,

The Abstract appears to be A32493/197; A32493/303; A32493/485; and A 32550/2

Most correspondence refernces Hawkins Field Unit TR B1-10 and TR B1-12

John Freeman

Yesterday my brother received another offer that doubled the prior offer and equaled a 9 year pay out at current production levels.

Clint,

Is there an Abstract 32493 or 32550? The numbers 197, 303, 485, and 2 appear to be some kind of designation relating to the abstract.

I am going from an old Division Order. The original descriptions date back to the 30's and have been lost over the years.

John

Clint,

I found a tax statement that referenced AB 449 J Pollock Survey (Mrs N M Shamburger-B) and Lease Number 300090. Also AB 449 J Pollock Survey (Ella M Faulk) Lease Number 300110. Shamburger and Faulk are probably the well names.

John

I got it now John. Definitely a good area to have minerals.

I have some oil / gas rights in Wood Co just off Hwy 11, near the Camp Co line. Has there been any activity in that area? Thank You

Durand,

The last activity I see in that area of Wood County was a 10,000' wildcat well that was drilled in A-603 in 1996 by Strago Petroleum Co./Dry Hole/API 499-31877. I also see where numerous dry holes were drilled in the surrounding area in the past.

Hello Clint , Thank You very for the information. It was very helpful !

I wish Camp County had a group. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any research there. ( living overseas and coming home every 2 years or so makes research difficult. I have a interest in couple of deep wells drilled back in 1960 by Gulf Oil between Leeburg and Newsome. ( several different companies have owned them over the past years . They were going to rework them back several yrs ago when the price of oil warrented it. I have the mineral rights in several tracts out in that area. If Trump wins this election, and our energy policies shift to favor our Country and our citizens , instead of those who take our money , but hate us while doing so … maybe someday we will see some action in those fields again …

Thank You & Best Regards , Durand Watson

Hello Durand,

I just sent in a request for a Camp County Texas Group. I'll start checking Camp County and see if there is any activity in that County. What is the Section or Abstract # of your minerals?

Father, John William Rochelle, deceased 1973 owned acreage in the Samual Brooks Survey. My sister, Sharon (Rochelle) Burton and I own an undividied 1/2 intest. There was mineral acreage in Wood County, TX and near Quitman, TX as county court house of the county.

Some leases to my sister and and me in the 1970's. Believe company was Eagel Company located near Dallas-Garland. Would like to receive info about what is going on about oil & gas activity.

John,

You will possibly receive some help if you will give the full description of the minerals acreage(Section, Abstract # and Block #).

Clint Liles

Thank…Clint. The last leases–early 1970’s–were offered by Eagle oil located in Dallas area. My interest would include a portion in the Samuel Brooks Survey. A copy of the lease was filed in Quitman Court House.

Is the Samuel Brooks Survey area a good for prospects?

More later.

John,

I could not find the Samuel Brooks Survey on the GIS Map.

AS I STATED IN MY OTHER POST, I NEED THE SECTION, ABSTRACT OR BLOCK # TO BE ABLE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.

Clint Liles

Clint…will take a short break here…need to review the Wood county documents. Have deeds and records scattered all over my office.

Will did around this time…enough…to try to answer your questions.

Standby…

The following is a sponsored (paid) promotional notice:

If you own minerals in Texas or New Mexico, consider attending the NARO – Texas convention in San Antonio July 18-20, 2018. They have a great agenda, good speakers, and the cost is reasonable. This year also includes a special session for New Mexico mineral owners. The current agenda draft is attached, and a link to their signup and information page is http://www.naro-us.org/event-2824234
