Do you mean the original recorded DPU from the deed records which should contain plats? Be sure to look for any amended DPU which may have changed the acreage and tracts for one of the units. And check the depths of the DPU as the two units could overlap as to surface acreage but not as to depths or formations. If the DPU reference fields, then you have to look at the RRC field rules to determine the depths covered.

Thanks James. I probably sound a bit overzealous. I keep thinking of the “BANK ERROR IN YOUR FAVOR” card in Monopoly and have to remind myself that it isn’t true!

TennisDaze you’re right, there’s an amendment that splits the acreage in our tract between the two units. Thanks for saving me some embarrassment.
