Terry County TX Oil & Gas Permits

LOL...Now Clint...really??? C'mon man. Look at the surrounding blocks there in eastern Terry and western Lynn county. What very few wells there are in that area are hardly more than "stripper" wells....produce 7 to 13 BOPD. The three formations you are saying might be there are just simply NOT there in eastern Terry county. In far western Terry, yes those three formations produce wells at 100 to 200 BOPD...C'mon man...if you believe that those formations extend into eastern Terry and western Lynn counties...in the words of the old George Strait song.."I've got some ocean front property in Arizona..." I have spoken to a number of oilmen and that is their assessment of eastern Terry and western Lynn.

Just saw a report about a huge discovery in Permian Wolfcamp. According to the shale maps, Terry County is outside of the Wolfcamp region. This question is clumsy but....Is it to be assumed that the oil or gas that is in Wolfcamp is not available in Terry County?

All this news and excitement with Apache and the Permian Basin and "my" lease is just outside of that region. Figures.

Yes, thanks to all who share their knowledge about Terry activity. While this is current, does anybody (perhaps you Clint) know which part of the county the following is in? My extended family has minerals in the Public School Land Survey, Block C-38, all of section 6, 22, and part of 7. It sounds like a lot, but there are many of us. We had a lease in 2011, but as far as I know, no drilling took place.

Well, I think I found it with help of GoogleEarth--didn't know you could search by lot and block, etc. The orange dot shows it--South East corner by Dawson County. Would still appreciate opinions if any here have one.

After checking the GIS Map I see no new activity for your immediate minerals area for several years. Several plugged oil wells in the surrounding area...And several dry holes that were drilled years ago. To the South and Southeast I see numerous producing Vertical and a few Horizontal wells....
