I’m sorry this happened to you. But, its so long after the fact that there’s not much you can do. The accepted rule for a lease bonus is to get the lease, go over it and work out any problems you see. The company will send you the lease, any addenda, and tax form; you then take it to your bank or wherever, sign it, and make a 2 copies. You submit 1 copy to the lessee and keep the original and 1 copy. Once the lessee copy is received, the lessee will cut you and check and send to you; you deposit the check and once it has cleared with all funds available to you, you send them the original copy so it can be filed and keep the final copy for your files.
