Camino has filed applications for 4 additional wells. One will be in the Springer Formation. I signed a Pre-Pooling Letter Agreement (PPLA) back in April 2021 related to Pooling Application Cause CD No. 2021-00469 Final Order No. 719517. It pooled all oil and gas interest in the Mississippian, Woodford and Hunton common sources of supply. Does Camino need to file a Pooling Application for the Springer common source of supply?
Oops… Section 12-6N-7W
“It depends”. The Springer is technically above the Mississippian on some strat charts. The Black Marker is above the “Mississippian” on their displays. The Black Marker may be considered transitional between the Miss and Penn times. Case 2025-003468 only lists the horizons as Woodford and Mississippian for the same well as 3469.
We are getting offers to lease that excludes the Pooled formations. (Mississippian, Woodford, Hunton).
Doesn’t surprise me as they may consider the Black Marker open to lease. You can either lease or wait and see if there is a pooling.
M_Barnes you are right. The Springer (Black Marker) is not HBP in section 12-6N-7W. The recent south offset, namely the Camino: Tyler 0607 13-24 1UXH is a Black Marker completion (8/2025) for 987 BOPD, 3,314 MCFD (from completion Form 1002A). Unleased mineral owners will likely get an offer, and if not negotiated be named under the pooling.
I received a phone call from Camino Landsman offering a new lease for the Woodford formation 12-6N-7W. He told me the lease offer was because of a depth clause we had in our current lease. This is what Camino offered. “Camino is looking to produce the Woodford Formation. They are offering $750 @ 1/5, $1000 @ 3/16, or $1250 @ 1/8.” Do you think there will be pooling and if so would it be better to wait?
The current horizontal well in 12-6N-7W is the Roberts 0607 12-1MXH which produces in the Mississippian.
Camino has filed OCC case 2025-003475 increased density for three Woodford wells.
Camino has filed OCC case 2025-003474 increased density for two more Miss wells.
Camino has filed OCC case 2025-003471 increased density for a Springer well (Black Marker may or may not be included in that case)
Multiunit cases have been filed for at lease four of the wells so far.
.I would think that it is highly likely that they will need to do cleanup pooling for zones that were not covered by other poolings or leases that had depth clauses.
If you have a good attorney with a rock solid lease for 1/4, I would go with that. If you do not, then I cannot guarantee that they will pool.
I see leases in sec 13 for 22.5% and 25%, so I suspect you can get a higher royalty than 1/5th.
Camino’s Pooling Application for the Springer Formation was filed Friday (12/19/2025). My wife and I signed a three-year Oil & Gas lease last month (November), so we were not named in the Pooling Application. We got a modest bonus plus 1/4 royalty and an Exhibit “A” we could live with. No deductions. No warranty.
