Royalties in Suspense

I think that is what he is saying.

Do you dispute that an owner of minerals and a finder can not make a contractual agreement for a finders fee of greater than 10%? If so, please recite the legal authority that would dispute Chris Johnson's claim to the contrary.

In the alternative, please recite the specific AAPL Canon that renders such an agreement unethical.

Not at all. Any two consenting adults can enter into a contractual agreement under those terms, as I thought I just stated.

Then you agree with Johnson. I am sure it will make his day.

Well, the way you worded your query was a double negative, i.e., “do you dispute they cannot”. So, let me clarify once again, anyone can enter into a contractual agreement for whatever terms they want as long as they are of age and it is not illegal.

And Dave, I don’t think I have as much problem with the astronomical amount of 40 percent of funds in suspense as I do his gouging future production. I mean, really? Like these people and their heirs owe him for the rest of eternity for his stumbling onto their funds in suspense and alerting them to the existence? Sorry, but I think that’s excessive.

Being greedy often results in those sorts of outcomes, rightfully so…

Thanks for reminding me. I wanted to watch American Greed at 9 tonight.
