Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

We are 5 miles NW in Block 58 Sections 15 and 16 so am glad to see possibilities getting closer to our land. It is leased with BHP now but have been getting offers to sell to AOG for $2200 per acre.

Exact legals are Section 41, Blk 55, TWP 5, T&P RR, Reeves Co, TX. Within the last week we have had calls from two brokers leasing for Arebella, Cimerex and EOG. We had reached out to Shell a few weeks ago trying to get it leased and now they are also interested. No one is really saying anything but that the wolfbone and bone springs are moving in that direction. I find that hard to believe because when Arabella backed out in late May they said that developement of the wolfcamp and bone springs had been poor in this area.

Charles, while your acreage is a bit farther east than any we have, we have been able to require a 1/4 royalty and 3 year term (no extension) for all the leases we have signed in the last couple of years for tracks as small as 2.5 net mineral acres, with bonuses of at least $1,500/acre. It appears that your two tracts are 12.8 net mineral acres each. I would hold out for the 3 year term and 1/4 royalty.

If it is Anthem, I would be wary. The undervalue greatly, according to what I have seen. Just my 2c.

Kelly, We have open acreage in Block 55 Township 4, sections 31 (85 acres) and 40 (20 acres), so I am interested in who gets your lease and with what terms.

Thanks. I will get in touch with them.

Buzz,

William and Blake Robbins are brothers.

They work with different companies and actually compete with each other. We are in the process of signing a lease with William today.

Kenneth – who is β€˜AOG’… TIA – Later – Buzz

Buzz, great article. Thanks for all you do and share here.

When looking at the Reeves county map in these articles, section 69 (where part of our mineral rights are located) is not highlighted as being owned by Rosetta. We leased to Eagle Oil and Gas, but I was under the impression that Eagle sold out to Comstock, who apparently sold to Rosetta. Am I mistaken?

Cynthia Ann – generally, for the Reeves holdings south of Pecos, that is true. But both Eagle and Comstock retained some holdings, for whatever reason. Later – Buzz

M.A. - mystery solved… thanks and good luck! Later – Buzz

This article highlights the Midland sub-basin… while Reeves is in the Delaware sub-basin of the Permian Basin, some of the discussion translates.

Buzz, AOG is Anthem Oil and Gas

I sure hope their numbers are very conservative, the author of the article seems to think so.

Louise they are 8 miles due west. There is also drilling north west of you. Shell recently drilled a well three sections south of you and one to the west. No indications of how they did yet, as far as I know.

Midland Map Company is good for maps. Trouble is you will have to be diligent to keep up with new permits. Hence, many here use the Tx Railroad Commision site.
