Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Good question, Bill, I learned a lot from this today. Louise

Vert wells hold 160 acres so four wells will hold a section. The operator has the right to drill wells on 40 acre spacings, if they so choose or 16 wells to a section eventually. The Wolfberry is now drilling wells on 20’s and 10’s reportedly.

Buzz im assuming the wolfbone is a formation, is this a shale, oil sand or what?

tks. Buzz and Steven that is intresting.

Stephen!!! sorry for misspell.

Wolfcamp Shale and Bone Spring series. Shale and sand that used to be A little too tight…but not any longer with multi stage fracs and co mingling permits

Billy – Wolfbone is a contraction of the Bone Spring and the Wolfcamp formations. I’m no geologist, but it’s my reading of available information that Wolfbone production is from the Bone Spring sands and the underlying Wolfbone shale. Later – Buzz

abstract # 5234 why no production since nov

abstract # 5233 what does shut in mean??? says it producing but no reports all

abstract # 4113 anyway to tell when it will be completed?

Thanks for any help

all in Reeves county

folks…

while ā€˜surfing’ this forum I came across some photos of well heads in Reeves County that were put by Clayton Williams. I can’t find them now. Can anyone point me to the right place in the forum that I might find the photos? Why? we have a producing well drilled by CWE and I want to send a ā€˜representative’ photo to my relatives…

thanks again…

Bill

Lynn and all, Just to show what can be done… the TwoFreds Delaware unit I show started production 50 years ago; since then, the cumulative oil production is just over 12 million barrels of oil. That’s recovery over fifty years, but also represents production that started before some of the newer techniques were developed. So the recovery is there, but it does take time. Sarah

Help needed! Anyone can help to recommend a lawyer in Reeves County to do Deed transfer, Thank you so much!

Have a good Holiday weekend!

Is there any data on the eventual oil recovery percentage from the wolfbone trend. Thanks

Lynn, current estimates are estimated recovery of 240,000 boe (barrels of equivalent), with the mix being 75% oil and 25 % gas from each vertical well in the Wolfbone. That prediction is based on 40 acre spacing and comes from a geologist at Eagle Oil & Gas. He estimates 108 million barrels of equivalent (oil and gas) per section in the Wolfcamp and 103 million barrels of equivalent in the Bone Springs. He also predicted that horizontal wells could improve by a factor of 3 the recovery. So vertical wells at 40 acre spacing would recover about 2.88 million barrels per section, plus the gas; but horizontals could improve that to 3 times as much being recovered. The companies have indicated that best practices and technology right now could produce 20 million barrels per section (that’s over time). But as my Grandfather pointed out, if there’s money to be made, someone will eventually figure out how to recover more of the oil and gas that’s down there. Sarah

Dennis, you may already have some of the information, but what I can track down is the following: Abstract 5234 is well 32809, a horizontal permitted by Energen as State C19-15, well #1. It was spud August 2011 and production began January 2012, to date 22,546 barrels of oil. Abstract 5233 is well 32899 and was permitted by Energen, spud and initial production was under them but in March 2012 it was taken over by Petrohawk. I’m showing production on RRC site, look it up under the lease number which is 41988. I’m seeing cumulative production of 23,296 barrels of oil. Abstract 4113 is the Judy Clark State C19-16 well (where do they find these names?) which was permitted by Petrohawk 10-1-2012 and spud 11-12-12. There seems to be lag of 4-6 months from spud to production for most wells, so I expect you’ll see something (hopefully a lot of something) in the next few months. Sarah

Does anyone have information about Petrohawk-Celeso drilling holes in Reeves County for $1000.00 a hole. They are setting sensors in these holes. This is all I know.

Thanks Billy, as soon as I acquire more info I’ll bring it up to date.

Hector i am not familiar with this, mabye they are going to do 3d siesmic, not sure how 3d is done.

We did this about a year ago with a group. Our lease is with Petrohawk/BHP and like everyone else, are waiting for lines to be put in to get the well product (42-389-33372) to market. We were paid for the right to conduct 3D seismic on the property and were also paid $1,000 per hole for a two year period.

Hector in what area of the county are they doing this 3d siesmic??
