Mike Brewer, this is Leslie Hancock, and I have been trying to get in touch with you about this offer we received from Mitchell Pet. I sent you a friend request on this forum so we can talk. I also sent you an email to the address I had for you M11......@gmail.com. Is that still your email address? Thanks, Leslie
Would just like to say, never sign a three lease with a two year option. What you would be signing is in reality a five year lease. Keep it at three years.
Robert,
After checking the GIS Map System I see several permitted locations by Cimarex about 6 miles to the North and Northeast of your minerals. Also numerous producing wells in that vicinity. To the South of your minerals I see several horizontal gas wells drilled by Petro-Hunt, LLC and are being operated by COG Operating. I see no activity now or in the past in your area by Cimarex. There could be some leasing in your area that I am not aware of.

Any word on Cimarex in Reeves county? We have an interest in AB 3460
BLK 58 SEC 19 PSLW/4
Any insight would be appreciated
Thanks!
JAmstater â if Iâm on the right trail, I can hardly believe my eyes? Energen has 9 multi-section laterals permitted recently involving SEC 18 and 21 to it north. Later â Buzz
I am new to the forum as well as to anything regarding the industry. I was wondering if anyone knews anything about activity, have an interest in Reeves County Section 18 Block C-19 Abstract-4039, PSL survey.
JAmstater â letâs start off by describing your interest in subject section.
Do you know who you leased to and when? Have you heard of Energen Resources? People on this forum want to help but, so far, itâs like youâre asking âHow long is a string?â Later â Buzz
JAmstater,
Energen is the main player in this area. The 9 wells Buzz referred to are targeting the Wolfcamp Formation. There are numerous Bone Spring wells in this area also.

I signed a theee year lease with Black Mountain in Aug 2015. I hadnât heard of Energen. I assume they sold the lease to Energen. I was looking to understand where my interest was and what the activity in the area was. There has been lots of interest all of a sudden. So I decided to look into it. I have been receiving lots of offers. I know it is GLO land and I have about 35 acres and or 17 net mineral acres. I would be interested to know whatâs going on if anything in the vicinity. Is this the same area the articles about Alpine are referring to? I saw the article that Clint posted from the Wall Street Journal. Thanks
Thank you Clint. This is an inherited interest so I donât know anything about all this. Can you tell me about what the Wolfcamp formation is, and Bone Spring wells? I donât know what that means. Is the blue section my interest? Looks like the blue circles indicate the permitted wells Buzz referred to. I appreciate your insight. Thank you.
Buzz- Thank you for your response. How do I look into that? Iâm not sure what the process is or the timing something like that takes to complete. I appreciate any insight and or direction.
JAmstater â I assume you yourself pays property taxes on the 35 acres; are you the only lessor (besides the state) who signed the lease with Black Mountain?
Energen Resources [EGN] is a large E&P company listed on the NYSE. You might Google âEnergen Investor Relationsâ and read their âNews Releasesâ and âWebcasts and Presentationsâ shown on that site. In the previous 5-6 years, they were very active in Reeves County, cooled somewhat, and moved more into Loving and Ward. Recently, they seem very interested in moving back to Reeves due to results by other companies.
The Bone Spring and Wolfcamp are geological formations that have been very productive (among others) in a very large area of Reeves County. The Bone Spring is described as a âtight sandâ, while the Wolfcamp is a âshaleâ. Google those names to learn more.
Apacheâs âAlpine Highâ area is in the far southwestern part of Reeves County, mostly along the Culberson/Jeff Davis/Pecos County lines. Later â Buzz
JAmstater â I forgot to mention⌠depth-wise, the Bone Spring lies above the Wolfcamp.
Apacheâs primary targets â Barnett and Woodford â are shale formations that lie well below the Bone Spring and Wolfcamp. However, they did mention the possibility of the Bone Spring and Wolfcamp being commercially in their area of interest as well. Later â Buzz
JAmstater,
I wonât attempt to answer your question about describing the Wolfcamp and Bone Spring Formations. Iâll let one of the more knowledgeable folks on the Forum do that. A Section of land is approximately 640 acres or 1 square mile. So only a small portion of this blue area on the map is yours. Just where your minerals area in this section I have no idea. The Reeves County Clerks Office could possibly help you with answering that question or a landman could possibly help you. And yes the blue circles are approved permitted locations.

Can someone help me figure out where to find out something? We got an unsolicited offer letter on our mineral rights. We have several in Reeves County. The description they used was COLSON S D Reeves Co. Texas. The descriptions I have saved are the actual Block/Sections #'s. Not sure how to tell what they are referring to. I assume that is the lease name??
Billy â subject well, ONEY 15-50 #1H; Clayton Williams received a permit dater 5-2-16. RigDataâs weekly drilling reports thru w/e 9/23 do not show this well being spud yet. FWIW, the well surface location is on SEC 15. Later â Buzz
Thanks Buzz, Iâm trashing it! Curious to know what is going on in our area. Production checks have dwindled over the last year. From what I am reading things are predicted to get better am I right? I have Blk 13 sections 320,326,328,329,330. I also have section 205 in Ward County. Not leased or anything. Is there any activity in that area?
I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT A 6" OIL PIPE CROSSING MY LAND. I AM TRYING TO VERIFY THE GOING RATE PER ROD FOR THIS TYPE OF EASEMENT. COULD SOMEONE ADVISE ME SO THIS CAN BE HANDLED QUICKLY AND FAIRLY FOR ALL PARTIES. THANKS. JOHN
Tracey â provide your descriptions of Block/Section #s⌠and survey name(s). It goes w/o saying you can trash that letter, IMO of course. Later â Buzz
