Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

George,

You can get a copy of the lease from the county records. There are not a whole lot of online resources for Reeves Co, but if your father’s lease was filed within the past 3 years, you should be able to get a copy off texasfile.com. Otherwise, you can call the abstract plant (Elliot & Waldren) in Pecos and they will get you a copy for a fee.

George, perhaps talk with a trusted lawyer knowledgeable about elder law and how it may apply to your Dad’s situation and lease?

Wade-Thanks. The lease is the problem. My dad, who is the one with the lease, and Im almost certain didnt have anybody look at, just saw the bonus $$ and signed it. He is getting near 80 and has lost the lease. I try to explain things to him and I wish I could look at his lease, but he is very unorganized. Ive tried to tell him calling the oil company is useless. All they do is tell him, yep Mr So and So your on pay status and we’ll do some research, and they never call him back. He had 3 months of decent royalty payments. He even loses his royalty statements before I can even read them and see what they are paying him for. Its very frustrating.

George,

I have a copy of your father’s lease. Is your father’s name Andrew, David, or William? Please send me a msg with your email and I will forward to you.

On a good note. The land is mineral classified and was subject to the use of the GLO Relinquishment Act form.

I received information from Oncor Electric Delivery Co. on a purposed power line through Reeves and surrounding counties. Has anyone else in this board received this info? As property owners should we be concerned about it? Wade, have you seen or heard anything about this?

Garland

I would hope that all of us would be open-minded and try to cooperate on getting badly needed infrastructure in all of Reeves County! Later – Buzz

Garland,

Our family has received the Oncor information also. We are not planning on doing anything but
“wait and see”. Block 58 Sections 15-16 Reeves County

To Buzz, Garland and all other,

Yes I agree that it is a good thing to be open minded about additional infrastructure needed including power lines etc. For example I was excited to see that all of Reeves county could possibly benefit from new oil and gas lines going in by Red Willow Production LLC, and Southern Union Co. Seems Red Will has already started in Blk C-18 Sec 4 and Southern Union some time later.

All the best to everyone. Appreciate this blog and the experts who contribute, since I am not one

We have talked with BHP recently, there seems indications that they will go for the 2 yr extension in Aug. Block 4 Section 64.

Has anyone had any experience with Rosetta Oil? If so, how are they to work with. Timely? Upfront? Other?

I can echo Colin’s endorsement of Greg Smith/New Minerals representing Rosetta. Very professional, timely and straight up. I extended for two years a lease (previously with Eagle O&G) in Block 13 & 14 at $2000 per nma in March.

I own the mineral rights for a part of a section in Reeves Co. Section 136, Block 13, H&GN RR Co Survey and was wonder what the going rates for leases were around this area. Our current lease has expired. Any help would be appreciated.

we have recently been working with rosetta on lease extensions. They have been great to work with…professional, timely and straight up.

Our contact is Greg smith with New minerals who represents Rosetta. Phone number is 281-272-0504

Has anyone heard of or seen any activity near Section 44 Block 57 Township 3 Abstract 3036 or Section 46 Block 57 Township 3 Abstract 3035? Thanks JW

JW

I spoke to BHP today on those 2 sections it appears now that they will extend the lease for 2 years. 2nd. or third week in Aug. fopr poss. payment.

Garland

Have several friends who have ownerships in Block 2, Section 17, H & GN Survey. They tell me that Desert Royalty is offering $10,000 for mineral rights there… per acre… hope thats true for their sake…

Garland, First time I have heard about it.

Production reports for the month of May have been posted on the RRC Texas website.

CWEI has monster production from a well in Section 255 of Block 13,

Lease number 43838, CWEI CHK 256-13, produced

Oil 9,672 barrels

Gas 29,684 MCF

Typo!

Section 256 of Block 13

Sorry,

Lynn

Lynn, I looked at 2013 production…the well production doubled after 7 months. Supposed they didn’t frack it for a few months?
