I have a lease which is not producing in Section 6, Township 16 North, Range 3 East.
In Lincoln County. This lease has been non-producing since January 2014. Lease has gas pipeline and salt water well for said well. Well has produced lots of gas in the Hunton Lime.
Thanks
First, read your lease as to the shut in terms. Do you have to contact them or do they owe you a shut-in payment within 90 days of contacting them? Check the PUN number at the OTC and see if it is still active and when the last production officially was. Contact your operating company and find out what is going on. If it is dead and they are not going to pay the shut-in fees, and you are past the original primary term of the lease, then demand a "release of lease" letter to be filed in the county with the original sent to you. All certified return mail of course!
M. Barns, the lease has changed operators several times since the well was drilled in 1980. I was 17 years of age when the lease was signed. I have contacted Ram Energy and talked by phone. There was no verbal hint of production, due to the price of gas and oil and electrical costs. The last production was January 2015. The past owner before Ram Energy has yet to take their signs down, which is an OCC violation.
I will write them and put the blitz on the operator. Thanks.
