Oil and gas lease offer in Winkler County

thanks for the information. I am still trying to access this same info but so far i am unsuccessful. any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I seems that none of my id info triggers recognition in the Tx system. I must now contact continental for explanation and status of coming division order???maybe a Christmas check based on the “unperfed” production to date - Archie

A close look at this completion filing plus a dive into the Tx RRC filings tells a negative story in my opinion.

This well last produced in April 2025 - only 430 BO after a very steep production decline over about a year. The Tx RRC has this well listed as “inactive” effective May 2025.

Only 43,000 BO and 27 million cubic feet of gas produced. Highly uneconomic.

And the completion report indicates that cast iron bridge plugs (CIBP’s) were set above the perforated section of the lateral. And the term “T&A’d” (temporarily abandoned) is in the remarks section.

Setting the bridge plugs above the completion zone in the lateral is step #1 of walking away from this wellbore and eventually permanently abandoning this well.

It is possible that this well may be able to be re-entered and sidetracked to another landing zone / target interval, but a deeper dive into the casing downhole is needed to determine if this is mechanically possible.

One final point - the operator status for this well is listed as “delinquent” in the Tx RRC filings for this wellbore. It appears that some necessary Tx RRC paperwork for this well has not been filed.

PS note on this well - you may be getting a division order and subsequent one-time check for your royalty share of the production to date. That would be nice present (even though one would like to have the monthly mailbox money of a producing well)

AMEN is my response! Monthly checks are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Month three of reported production seems to suggest Continental Resources might have ‘cracked the code’ with Bullsnake lease well which looks to have the highest production of any well in far northeastern Winkler county [22,245 BO in October 2025.

Although this looks like a decent monthly production number, a rate of 750 BOPD is very average when it comes to an expensive horizontal wellbore. Associated gas and NGL’s add some more value, but with low gas prices, this impact is not very significant.

As with any Hz completion in this type of reservoir, production decline is an even more critical component at to economic viability.

Best to circle back on this well’s production and see where the production is at that time

I am a layperson. I should have been more clear that I was referring to initial production and have no idea how the well will perform over a longer term. I think highest monthly production on other nearby Woodford/Barnett wells may be less than 10,000 bo for a month. Bullsnake is, what, a third longer but maybe has 50% more production in the month of October than any other well in the area has had. Will October likely be this wells highest monthly production? Is it still flowing back frac fluid?

As noted in other posts, waiting 6-12 months at least to see production decline is recommended before making any assumptions about economic viability for this well / area / section.
