Mitsui Lipsey A 2H Update - 9/16/2026

I have no info regarding the John Durst survey.

I found some info on the Durst Survey. Energy Land Services has acquired more than 1,700 acres in that survey via mineral deeds. They are working with Black Stone Minerals.

yes they are the ones wanting to buy my minerals.. do you know what the going rate is right now?? i’ve had these minerals for about 35 years and know one has ever asked to lease..

I don’t have any info on prices.

I posted on another thread but there has been a permit filed for a stratigraphic test a few miles east of Alto. This is very close to the Durst Survey. I happened to be driving down the road a few days ago and saw equipment at what I believe is going to be the location.

My son visited the Kretzschmar wells NW of the 2 Mitsui Lipsey wells yesterday. He found out the Kretzschmar PBH 1H has tested positive for H2S and it appears like Alan has noted to be in a similar Haynesville zone as the Lipsey 1H. Comstock is going to notify the area of this and start a test to evaluate levels and possible remedies tomorrow (Tuesday) so we will see. The Kretzschmar PP 1H is in the Bossier and has been connected and flowing normally into the Pinnacle pipeline. The pad will be closed off for about a month to visitors and non essential personnel so we won’t have the option to visit until the all clear is announced. Funny how neighboring wells like Dollie Jones and Olajuwon had no issues with the H2S. Comstock has spent many millions on the Kretzschmar wells so I hope they are able to salvage PBH 1 H.

Alan, Do you know what if any measures Mitsui is doing to try and recover the Lipsey 1A well? I think they may be testing and flaring it like they are doing with the Kretzschmar PBH well that also is in the Haynesville at a similar depth. I know they started last Tuesday on it but do not know if they have gotten the H2S issue figured out yet. As far as I know there has not been any reports or filings done recently on either well that I can find.

I drove by the Mitsui pad location yesterday and was surprised to see a gate guard trailer and a pretty strong flare on the pad. I assume they must be doing something on the Lipsey 1H.

I have to assume that wells completed too low in the Haynesville portion may get some flow from the Smackover and that is where the H2S can come from. I know this happened in early deep wells in Lower Sabine Parish La.

Welcome to the forum! I suppose Comstock will have to file a revised G1 once they get the H2S figured out for the Kretzschmar PBH 1H 16234874 as even though they filed this one 8/31/26 they report no contact with the Smackover formation. I am not sure where the bottom hole landed but I do know the Bossier wells in the area seem to be free of this problem. Here is the current G1.
