I’m sorry I looked and cannot find his number. Here is the information you might call and see if they have his number directly:

LOL…I just found it too…glad you found it Don.
Thanks JB, Rebecca and others. Email is my easiest way to communicate. I have sent an email to the LMD offices here in Houston asking for assistance with Wade.
Sarah, I am not sure. It is NE/4, Section 49, Block 26. Can you share what your lease amount was? Or give me an idea of what to expect?
Has anyone signed with FireWheel recently? I’ve had an offer for my acres in the southwest quarter.
Karen is your property near Bull Creek or where? Mine is in the southwest corner. Lincoln Land and Title already made a lease with us.
We signed with Firewheel just this week. We used Ty Wood…very satisfied.
Mine is in Section 17 Block 19. I had an initial bonus of 400 for one acre 2/5ths royalty with a 3 year lease. I will call the county clerk’s office in Colorado City to see what other info I can get.
I talked with someone from Firewheel last week. They are working on getting all leases in place before drilling–so, the ones complete will be ahead of the others.
Sorry - forgot - - all in T&P Ry. Co. Survey.
I’m curious, George, when you say you “signed” with Firewheel, do you mean a lease option or a full term lease? Thank you.
Sarah, I re-read your reply to my question a week ago. And do I understand you correctly - you are receiving 2/5ths royalty? 40%?
Sorry, it was 1/5th, not 2/5ths. My bonus first check was 400.00. Don’t know where you got 40 percent, unless I am not understanding. Sorry for the misquote.
Devon’s permit for the Scharlach M Location was approved on 9/12. It is for a 9,000 ft horizontal well 12.2 mi SE of Westbrook, Sec 19 Blk 13 H&TC Survey.
Devon also submitted an application today for Vic Adoue’s place (used to be Charlie and Emmabeth’s), the Adoue C, for a horizontal well, 7,850 ft depth. This is 5.7 mi S of Colorado City. Sec 71 Blk 27 T&P
I think these are the same general area that Mr. Purvis is drilling.
I signed with Firewheel back in April/May. We have interests in Sections 58, 63, and 64 of Block 25 and Section 73 in Block 26. I think these are southwest of Lorraine but can’t tell if that is where Firewheel is set up.
Thanks. That is more in keeping with what I have seen.
Wade Caldwell (member of our Mitchell County Group) has a good article on his blog “Ten Oil and Gas Lease Clauses You Want.”
I had trouble with the Texas GLO map. All I could find were early maps and segments of the County on historic old maps. After you open the website, where are y’all looking next?
Full term lease. Yes, I was wondering if they were drilling in any of those sections.
Well. Isn’t it about time the Devonites came to the party? Patterson has moved a rig onto Howie Mayse’s lease, south on Highway 208, left on FM 644, and right on the first county road, go about 3 miles, and the rig signs are at the entrance. They are not set up and drilling yet; the derrick is still on the ground. Those Devonites built Mr. Mayse a heck of a nice road, entrance, and gates between his pastures. Yaaay!
George, the only drilling rigs I know about are the Laredo rig north of Loraine (Treadaway lease), the Firewheel rig south of Loraine (Webb lease), and the Devon rig that Patterson moved in within the last couple of days on Howie Mayse’s ranch. And Mr. Purvis is drilling, although I don’t recall Section/Block numbers on those; they are in the south part of the County (I think Mickie posted about those permits several pages back).
The Section numbers you gave me in Block 25 are close to Firewheel’s Webb location. Section 58 is two sections to the NNW, Section 63 is one section to the NW, and Section 64 is two sections NW.
Your Section 73 in Block 26 is about 6 miles NW of the Mayse location, and approximately 5 miles WSW of the Webb lease.
The Colorado Record has “Oil News” in this edition of the newspaper and mentions six wells completed by Energen, all 10 to 12 miles NW of Colorado City producing from 2 barrels to 96 barrels of oil. It also mentions two Quantum Resources Management wells, 6 miles NW of Westbrook, making 16 and 35 barrels of oil.
Our local paper is publishing oil and gas news weekly along with the section from the County Clerk’s Office which has the leases that have been filed.
The newspaper’s phone number is 325-728-3413 if anyone wants to subscribe; it comes out on Thursdays.
