There are more but I believe these are all in Leon county. These are past and current leases that I am working on shoring up.

Use the Texas RRC map to zoom in and see what activity is in the area. Here is an example. You can use www.Texasfile.com to look up leases.
https://gis.rrc.texas.gov/GISViewer/ Select the county at the upper left and then use the blue magnifying glass near the middle of the top bar to get the drop down for surveys. You can zoom in to see wells, etc.
I have used Texas File and hit a dead end as far as my Deed search part of it. I have so many questionsā¦.
Probably a good idea to get a landman to help you.
You can try courthouse direct and see what you find.
681 is the only only among the listed surveys that has seen new leasing since 1/1/2020. A leasing entity named Emawood recorded two leases covering 320 acres in December 2025.
Thank you for your help, I have all these copies of leases from 2006 and up. Itās a little to say the least hard to navigate as some have been released then changed hands⦠I do keep getting the same offers to buy up to 10 times a month for the last 5+years for the same area. This last one actually had a draft attached and was specific on the abstract. AB 547 J Morrison survey.
Be especially careful of any offers with a check attached. They can have very dangerous wording and be trying to buy all of your minerals everywhere for a very small sum.
Thank you for that. The reason I am really looking into all this as I am the end of my family line other than my daughter and this will be something that she wonāt follow up with. Im thinking that selling up would be the best option and thatās why I was hoping to find just one knowledgeable person to help me with this. I do have family in Texas on my fatherās side that I didnāt know until I was 40 so they have no insight to this as the mineral interests are in my motherās side. This is why I was trying to connect directly itās hard to publish these things for all to see. You have been so helpful to so many on this site!!
Oh my after using the tools you gave me I found a lake there named after us ā Cundiff Lakeā that was kinda fun!!
Iāve gotten in touch with a landman Iāve worked with in the past on one of the properties. He was very helpful and kind then and is still very much in the business. Thank you for suggesting that. ![]()
Excellent. Good luck with your detective search. It can take some experts to find the data.
Itās been interesting just recently as i did make a call to the company that issues my checks for my producing interests as that has been the area and some close by that I keep getting higher and higher offers on. Just one call to the ārightā person really let me know I needed to get serious about moving forward instead of just kinda fishing for answers. Your site has been a great help!!
